October 2020 Update
Since the lockdown began we have been avidly following any new developments and carefully considering any potential options to reopen our film club. We are however at the mercy of East Lothian Council regarding the reopening of the Village Hall and of any conditions that they may ask us to fulfil (social distancing, cleaning regimes, test & trace protocols etc) in order to reopen. We were still hoping to open again later in the year however this has been looking increasingly unlikely. The latest news from ELC is that the hall will continue to remain closed for the foreseeable future.
We realise that we had previously collected membership monies from you in January and this is something we feel particularly uncomfortable about. We do not want to be seen to be hanging on to club members’ money if we are unable to provide our regular service.
We don’t anticipate to be able to make any meaningful decisions until December, but if you would like a pro-rata refund now of £17.50 for your 2020 membership then please get in touch with our membership secretary Eileen Henderson on 01620 810651 and she will be happy to make suitable arrangements.
Films are held in Gifford Village Hall in East Lothian, usually on Friday nights at 8pm (doors open at 7.30pm for tea, coffee and home baking (when we have time!).
For our 2019 season, you can join the film club for £25 per year which gives entry to the full programme of films, or guest membership on the door at £5 per film.
Volunteers and new committee members are always welcome!
